We've reached the end of our first week with @Grok @Bot and it came thru again in a BIG WAY. We spend a RIDICULOUS amount of money each month on health insurance that, quite frankly, sucks. Super high deductible and out-of-pocket max. It's horrible. So, I handed Carl a screenshot of our plan details and told him to have our Researcher bot analyze it, ask any follow-up questions needed, and find a better and cheaper insurance plan for upcoming renewal. We put Grok @bot and Hermes on one Obsidian brain. The fix that made it stable was OneDrive MCP, not another local folder. We run Obsidian as an LLM wiki in the Karpathy sense: a living knowledge base agents can query and update, not a graveyard of chat exports. One vault. Two agents. Same brain. Hermes lives on the always-on Mac Mini. It keeps the ops diary and day-to-day machine notes, and it reads the wiki when it needs context. Grok Bot is the agency seat. It does not get a private second brain. It uses the same Obsidian vault through OneDrive MCP, so it can read and write durable notes without depending on which laptop currently has the desktop app open. Early notes on Grok Bot... Facebook hates it. It realizes you are on some computer thats not your desktop and it just endlessly put up captcha's. This thing is quite good. I asked it to do some research for me, catalog the info, make sure its not duplicated, and send me the results every morning. Done. All this runs on my bot in the cloud. I can shutdown everything here and come back later and its still running. Not bad, not bad!

I think Grok Bot for $300/month is a steal. Literally super cheap. I used it to onboard some of the new engineers for Actioners. They did the whole package of onboarding, a presentation, a checklist and chatted and coordinated with the person over WhatsApp. The only thing missing was to buy the airplane tickets cause I already had them but I bet it will easily also buy the tickets for them. But @bot I need u to have credit cards and budgets soon. I’m just starting a new app, and this week it feels like I just raised $50M and have a bunch of highly super smart people always available in my pocket. A Grok bot is the best assistant a trader can have. I built mine over a weekend, and it took over the part of the job I was always too slow or too tired to do properly. It reads while I sleep. Filings, feeds, order books, the same sources I'd open by hand, except it opens all of them at once and doesn't get bored halfway through. → it prices the thing itself, then compares its own number to what the market is asking → it shows me the gap and says in one line why the gap exists → it sizes the position against a cap I set once and it can't talk me out of → it writes the exit before the entry, so I never invent one mid-panic → it keeps the fill, the slippage and the fee on separate lines, because lumped together they hide each other → it reads its own losing tickets overnight and hands me a rewritten rule by morning. It's not a signal service and it never tells me what to buy. It hands me a case with the sources attached, and I say yes or no. That's the only part of trading I wanted to keep anyway. Where it actually makes me money is dumber than it sounds. It never skips the boring step. The boring step is where I used to lose. Setup took an evening. Create the chief of staff, hand the rest job titles the way you'd brief new hires, run one cycle on your screen while they watch, connect Telegram. I set up my grok bot today. I talked to the default startup bot and told it to search X for real users experiences, issues, best practices, dead ends, ideas, etc. Then told it "based off all the research, you will be my bot maker / bot maintainer" Then it made me a new "system health" bot that watches for dead connectors, wiped computers, runaway routines, and bot sprawl. Grok Bot created a technical lead agent for me. I’m finding it useful for cross project systems design. Grok Build day to day lives in one repo at a time and I use it for more hands on changes. My Bot agent though, it has cross repo read access and so I can riff on ideas, launch research requests from my phone, and then come to a direction decision. At that point, Build can take over on implementation. I think the split seems to work well for the different use cases.
